What's ROYAL PROJECT in Thailand?タイのロイヤルプロジェクトYuri,Thailand

タイに７年以上住んでいる母親に連れられて、ショッピングセンターの一角にある「ROYAL PROJECT／ロイヤルプロジェクト」ショップへ行ってきました。

My mother who has been living in Thailand for more than 7 years took me to "Royal Project" shop in a shopping center.

このロイヤルプロジェクトは、プミポン国王（現タイ国王）が国内視察の際に、タイ北部でアヘンの違法栽培をしているのをみて、貧しい農村の人々の自立を助けるためにと、約40年前に立ち上げられたプロジェクトです。以来、タイの国民と産業の発展のために国王自らが指揮をとり、現在ではタイ全土に広がる取り組みにまで発展してきました。驚くべきことに、プロジェクトにかかる資金の全てが国王、王妃や王室の個人的な資産を投じて運営されています。

The ROYAL PROJECT was initiated 40 years ago by King Bhumibol. When he visited northern Thailand, he saw a lot of poor farmers planting opium to survive their lives (Of course, planting opium was illegal.) So he decided to start this project for farmers to get better lives and some more money without risk.
And surprisingly, the Royal Project is run by King, Queen, and other royal family members with their own money. The project has spread all over Thailand now and people respect King and the royal family so much!

 ロイヤルプロジェクトブランドの商品は、野菜、果物、米、加工食品の他、化粧品や雑貨など高品質で比較的リーズナブルなものが沢山。その上タイの発展にも貢献できることから、もともと王様が大好きなタイの人々が好んで購入していきます。

At the store, you can find a variety of good quality products such as vegetables, fruits, rice, processed food, cosmetics and more at reasonable prices☆

 因みに、バンコクにある国王の宮殿の一角に設けられたロイヤルプロジェクトの工場等の施設は、教育目的で公開されており一般人でもツアーなどで見ることができるそうです。私も機会を見つけて是非足を運んでみたいと思っています♪

You can see the part of the Royal Project facilities in King's palace. The facilities are open for the general public. I'm also planning to go there in the near future♪
